In collaboration with Ghobeiry Municipality, Bahman Hospital and Donner Sang Compter, USAL organized a blood donation day for people who were wounded due to Israeli attacks on Lebanon. In presence were Mr. Maan Al Khalil, mayor of Ghobeiry Municipality, Hajj Ali Krayyem, director of Bahman Hospital and the University President Dr. Mohammad Reda Fadlallah and his deputies, along with the active participation of students, teachers and administrators.
During this event, the University president delivered a speech in which he said: “This year, our movement comes as a result of the university’s commitment to its responsibility towards the society, because social, economic and ethical issues are parts of its policy and practices”, adding that the University is proud “to organize this event”. Dr. Fadlallah considered that this act is the least that the University can offer for the wounded, whose blood was spilled on the land of the country. In conclusion, he thanked all students and collaborators who participated in this event.
On his part, Mr. Maan Al Khalil commended students for their participation and for donating blood, recalling “the school of His Eminence the late religious authority Sayyid Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah which calls for concerted efforts in times of crises”.
The mayor considered that “we all stand together today to offer all that we are capable of for the sake of our homeland”, highlighting “that the essence of donations today is happening through the youth and universities”. He further emphasized the importance of providing those wounded due to cruel aggressions the best one can offer, for the sake of Lebanon’s strength and safety.
Mr. Al Khalil finally thanked “Ghobeiry Municipality’s giving partners, namely the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon, Bahman Hospital and Donner Sang Compter”.
