Students of Special Education Club at USAL celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The club organized a number of activities with the participation of a group of students, teachers and administrators. The participants sought to develop a better understanding of the life challenging difficulties from which persons with disabilities suffer. They experienced the “Sense Loss” activity through which they refrained from using one of their senses for a short period of time.
The Department of Special Education at the Faculty of Education also organized an educational debate on the role of the special needs educator and its relation to other educational majors. The debate was held between a team of Special Needs educators and a team of multi-disciplinary persons including a group of specialists in the fields of psycho-motor therapy, psychological therapy and speech therapy.
